Discover the art of natural dyeing and its mindful, creative process. Using traditional, kitchen, and foraged dye materials, these workshops introduce the fundamentals of natural dyeing, including fabric theory, preparation, and color fixing for both cellulose and protein fibers.

The workshops are suitable for complete beginners as well as participants with prior experience seeking hands-on guidance. Notes are provided for each lesson, and ongoing support is available even after the workshop ends.
KIDS aged 7+ are welcome.

Group sizes are kept small to ensure personal attention. Private workshops are also available.

Natural Pigments (on silk bandana & paper)

Did you know that the greatest artists in history created their colors using natural materials? Plants, insects, and minerals were the foundation of their palettes.

In this workshop, we will explore exactly that. You will learn how to create your own natural pigments using simple ingredients — many of which can be found in every home — and how to develop a rich and versatile color palette from them.

During the session, you will paint on both paper and fabric, experimenting with your handmade colors and discovering their unique qualities.

04.04.2026 |Eco Printing (2 techniques)

As the name suggests, this technique teaches us how to accurately imprint the design of a plant onto fabric.

We use fresh plants, primarily leaves, and with the help of steam and pressure, bring the design to life on natural fabrics. We will work with cotton and learn 2 different ecological printing techniques. We will cover fabric preparation, color fixing, and which plants dye effectively.

Introduction to Natural Dyes & Upcycle Project

(by appointment)

This is an important practice to introduce you to the world of plant-based dyes, how they work, and how to prepare both the plants and the fabrics in order to extract color and apply it effectively across the fabric.

Various plants, fruits, and vegetables can be used, such as onion skins, turmeric, avocado pits, marigold flowers, and more.

Participants will learn how to create a successful dye bath, use two different mordants, and prepare the fabric before dyeing. They will also learn what kinds of plants can be used to extract colors.

Students will be able to bring 1 undyed medium size piece of 100% natural fabric (cotton, linen, silk, wool, viscose, etc.) to be dyed and reused with a different color such as a tshirt, tote bag, shirt..

Additionally, we will create together your first mini color sample using silk, linen, and cotton.

The class includes:

  • Fabric samples & threads for creating a color palette

  • All necessary equipment

28.03.2026 | Bundle Dyeing on Silk Scarf

A technique that has been around for centuries, well-known in the world of natural dyes, and quite special as it allows us to create prints on fabrics like silk, cotton, and linen in a simple and fun way. It is one of my favorite techniques, and I use it in almost all of my creations.

We will learn about the history of silk, how to prepare the fabric, stabilize it, and discover which plants dye most effectively. The aprticipants will dye one silk scarf made of 100% Soufli silk.

The technique can be applied to all natural fabrics (cotton, linen, viscose, etc.).

The lesson includes:

Indigo is a natural dye, one of the oldest dyes in the world, and has been used in many cultures, such as in India, China, Egypt, and Japan.

Shibori is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique that involves folding, tying, and twisting the fabric before dyeing to create unique patterns.

In this workshop, we will learn how to extract color and explore various folding, tying, and twisting techniques to create unique patterns on fabric.

Participants will take home their own hand-dyed cotton tote bag.

The class includes:

Silk Scarf Creation with Natural Dyes & Japanese Shibori Technique

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the art of creating silk scarves using natural dyes and the traditional Japanese shibori dyeing technique. Through folding, binding, and dyeing, you will learn how to create unique patterns and organic designs on silk.

Each participant will create two small silk scarves (50 × 50 cm) and gain an understanding of the dyeing process, materials, and techniques involved.

No prior experience is required.

From Syntagma Metro: Take Line M2 (towards Dafni) and get off at Agios Ioannis station. Walk northwest ~10 minutes to Chersifronos 1, 11631, Athens (Pagkrati).

From Syntagma Square, walk east on Vasilissis Sofias Street, turn right on Souri Street, then left onto Chersifronos Street to reach number 1. The walk takes about 20–25 minutes through central Athens.

Both routes offer a pleasant walk and are easy for visitors to follow.
