In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the art of creating silk scarves using natural dyes and the traditional Japanese shibori dyeing technique. Through folding, binding, and dyeing, you will learn how to create unique patterns and organic designs on silk.

Each participant will create two small silk scarves (50 × 50 cm) and gain an understanding of the dyeing process, materials, and techniques involved.

Indigo is a natural dye, one of the oldest dyes in the world, and has been used in many cultures, such as in India, China, Egypt, and Japan.

Shibori is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique that involves folding, tying, and twisting the fabric before dyeing to create unique patterns.

In this workshop, we will learn how to extract color and explore various folding, tying, and twisting techniques to create unique patterns on fabric.

Participants will take home their own hand-dyed cotton tote bag.

The class includes:

Μαθαίνουμε τις βασικές αρχές των φυσικών βαφών και δημιουργούμε τις δικές μας μοναδικές μεταξωτές μπαντάνες, που θα μας συντροφεύουν σε όλες τις εξορμήσεις μας, βαμμένες αποκλειστικά με φυσικές βαφές και ιδιαίτερες τεχνικές 😍🎀
